ANTHBOT Genie: Smart AI Robot Lawn Mower - No Wire

I'm really enjoying the time it's giving me back. I don't understand fully how this robot works. I often think it's lost as many times as it's turning around. It does a good job mowing although I wish there was a faster option on the app. Also the Border I have outlined it doesn't cut as much as I would like. But besides all of that it's a nice little addition.

I have had my ANTHBOT Genie 3000 for about 10 days now. So far I like it. It is relatively easy to set up but I wish that it came with a longer RTK cable. That being said I was able to set it up fairly quickly. I think the hardware seems pretty solid but the software leaves something to be desired. That being said, if you message customer support on Facebook Messenger they are very responsive and it seems they are planning monthly updates. They also seem to be listening to their users to try to address issues that come up which I appreciate. I will continue to update this review as more time goes by. Even though this is a midrange Robomower, I hope that it is going to be adequate for my needs in my .5 acre mowing area.

FWIW, no issues with my hills or getting stuck on things very often. If you are setting up your map, draw the no mow zones manually. Much easier that way. Battery life has been very decent. It’s a good value for the money. Probably the best mower that you can get for $1600 on the market right now.

EDIT: I made a list of things I wish I knew before setting up my machine:

DO:

Drive your mower around the edge of the area that you plan cut and only the area you plan to cut.
Take your time and start with one smaller portion that you mark off and close as a loop then add to the section on the map and drive your mower to the next section. This is the time to drive over things like sidewalks and driveways to other areas that will be mowed.

Expect to remake your map a couple times at first. Make modifications in small areas at a time before saving them will lead to less frustration than doing one huge map and having to delete it because he made some mistake drawing the map.

If there are times when the mower has been set up already, but is acting confused, like not driving in straight lines over open areas of the lawn, try to turn off the mower and let it sit for one minute or so then turn it back on again.

Use the manual drawing no cut zone, which is turned on by the circle with the arrows on it. This will allow you to manually draw the areas that you don't want to cut.

Give feedback to the developers so they know what things they can improve upon. They are listening to you!
Place the RTK antenna in an area where it will not be jostled or moved. If it gets bumped you may need to redraw maps which is extremely frustrating.

DON'T:

Include areas like driveways and sidewalks that you do not intend to cut within a mowing area.

Draw one large area, including areas with sidewalks and driveways and expected the machine will just use it's artificial intelligence to not go on the driveways or sidewalks. If you do this, then there will be times when the mower will trap itself into your Mowing area and not be able to leave because the exit point is beyond the point wherethe lawn ends.

Expect the mower to guide itself perfectly the first time. There is a learning curve to setting up the map and once it set up right it works well. Be patient!

Be afraid to reboot the robot if it is acting unusually. In the end, it is a piece of technology and just like our phones, it can go haywire at times and giving it a fresh reboot can "clear the air" and get it back to behaving normally.

Draw the no cut zones with rectangle. It is not accurate enough.

The ANTHBOT Genie 600 was easy to setup and get started. The App is also very good quality. A few tweaks to the map and it was mowing my backyard.
I have narrow side yard paths to my front lawn. So far I have yet to get the ANTHBOT Genie 600 to successfully run in the front and make it back to the dock in the backyard. It gets lost and confused normally on the narrow side lawn area. I am working thru that as I get time. More to come.
I have also had issues with the rain sensor and my irrigation sprinklers. I run the irrigation around 4am and I run the ANTHBOT at 8am. It thinks it has rained at 8am and will delay the cutting until 11am. I am currently leaving the rain sensor off and turning it on manually when I know it will rain. The App makes that really easy to manage!
The maximum area 900 sm must not be considered a single charge. The 600 completes a single pass of my 2000 sf (190 sm) backyard lawn with no issue. It does not complete the 2 passes and needs to recharge.
The backyard area it is maintaining daily and has never looked better. The quality of the maintained area is the best part. When you return home the lawn is always well maintained and ready for the dog to run and play.
I look forward to getting the ANTHBOT maintaining the front lawn also but may be a few weeks before I have time to investigate further.
Some really great improvement recently released in firmware and App updates. Feels good when they are continuously improving the product.
Great job ANTHBOT team. I will be a returning customer and will look for accessories in the future.
I would really like to see a gate door that unlocks for the mower but locks to keep pets safe in the backyard. I have only seen this accessory from one competitor so hopefully that will be a great addition in the future.

So far so good. Easy to install, WiFi was tricky as it’s in the backyard and has to be 2.4ghz to connect. Once connected mapping was easy, have cut the grass twice and worked and looks great.
